COURTYARD HOUSE FEATURED IN WALLPAPER*
MAY 2014
In “NO ARCHITECTURE gives the traditional courtyard house a bold twist in Aurora, Oregon,” Hadani Ditmars writes about the single-level house Andrew Heid designed for his parents, sunk into a hillside. Six interior spaces wrap a planted, glass-enclosed garden, and two L-shaped cores let each room serve as living space by day or a bedroom at night. Unlike a traditional courtyard house, its glass walls open the interior to the surrounding landscape.
